During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 25 November 1861 (1, 3). He was enlisted for three years, by Lieutenant Weeks, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (3). He was a private, in company G (1, 5-6).

He was transferred on 4 December 1861 to company F (1, 4).

He was discharged from Cliffborn [?] Hospital, at Washington DC, on 27 November 1862 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 3). He was a private, in company F (5-6).
