Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 6 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, grey eyes, and black hair. [source: 2]

During the war

On 27 October 1862, he enlisted, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a private, in company H. He was paid a $25 bounty, and a $4 premium. [sources: 1, 2]

He was listed on a Muster and descriptive roll of a detachment of US volunteers forwarded for the 91st, dated 1 November 1862, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [source: 2]

Apparently Eli Sellers wrote a letter about him, but I have not seen that letter. [source: 2]
