On 9 June 1904, he unsuccessfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (3, 4).

On 27 August 1907, he died (6). He was buried in Pennsburg Reformed [Church Cemetery], Pennsburg, Pennsylvania (6). His grave had a Montgomery County GAR marker on it (6).
