He was a substitute (1, 3). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 28 March 1865 (1, 3). He was enlisted for one year, at Norristown, Pennsylvania, by Captain Yerkes (3). He was mustered in as a private in company H (1, 4-5).

He never reported to his company (2). He was dropped as a deserter on 25 June 1865 (1, 2). He was a private, in company H (4-5).
