George Ubil

Before the war

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 17 January 1862 (1, 2, 7). He was mustered in as a private in company I (1, 2, 7, 8).

He was discharged on 10 June 1862 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 7). He was a private, in company I (8).

After the war

In 1870, he was living in West Caln Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania (4). He was living with his wife Margaret, and (presumed children) Hannah, Sarah, and John (4). He was a stone mason, and owned real estate worth $1,600 (4).

In 1880, he was living in West Caln Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania (5). He was living with his wife Margaret, and his daughter Hannah Murray and her family (5). He was a laborer (5).

On 6 July 1885, he died (7). He was buried in St John's Episcopal Cemetery, W. Caln, Chester County, Pennsylvania (7).

On 24 April 1888, his widow, Margaret A Ubil, applied successfully for a pension (3, 6).
