In 1860, he was living in Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania (7). He was living with Joseph and Anna Eliza Warran (presumably his parents), and with Catharine, Joseph, Harriet, and Hannah Ann (presumably his siblings), and with Eugene A Gridley (7). He had attended school within the year (7).

When he enlisted, he was a farmer (4, 6).

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 7 inches tall, and had a light complexion, hazel eyes, and light hair (4, 6).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 30 January 1864 (1, 4, 6). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Shipley (4, 6). He was mustered by Lieutenant Burk (3, 6). He was a private, in company B (1, 8).

On 27 April 1865, he was promoted to corporal, effective 1 April 1865 (2).

On 2 January 1865, he went on a furlough, which ended on 12 January 1865 (3). He returned (3).

He was "to be charged"--perhaps for lost equipment, when the regiment mustered out (5).

He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1). He was a corporal, in company B (8).
