In 1860, he was living in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Catharine and daughter Emeline. He was a farmer, who owned real property worth $2,000, and personal property worth $300. [source: 4]

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 6 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, blue eyes, and dark hair. [source: 3]

During the war

He was drafted from Gwyenedd, Pennsylvania. He +enlisted and was mustered into service on 2 March 1865. He was enlisted for one year, at Norristown, Pennsylvania, by Captain Yerkes. After the war

In 1870, he was living in Gwynedd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Catharine, and Jacob Zeber; their daughter Emeline and her family were probably living with them.
