written on back: "Shaw boy, my comrade in arms. We tried to do our little part between '61 and '65 to aid in restoring the Union and setting free the slaves of that day. This photograph of William S. Shaw and daughter was taken June, 1912. Comrade Shaw and I ran away from our homes in Millville, NJ Nov. 10, 1861 to enlist in Co.H 91 PA Vol."
