William GRAY (b. ?; Lenoir County?; d. 1845-1850, Lenoir Co.). William's parents and birth date are unknown at present.
Married ca. 1840-1841,
Ava SUTTON (b. 1826, Lenoir Co., NC; d. ca. 1887, Lenoir Co., NC). Ava (Avey) was the daughter of John2 SUTTON (Benjamin1 SUTTON) and Elizabeth ?, Lenoir, NC.

Children of William GRAY and Ava SUTTON were:
1.        Elizabeth (Bettie) GRAY, (b. 25 Oct 1842; d. 03 Oct 1904).
Bettie GRAY married m. first, ca. 1861, Noah H. SUTTON (b. 02 Jan 1838; d. 13 Feb 1865, CSA); and second, ca. 1870-73, Edward SUTTON (b. 23 Aug 1847; d. 25 Nov 1908). Both Noah and Edward were sons of William and Rachel SUTTON, Lenoir, NC.
2.        John Thomas GRAY (b. 21 Aug 1843, Bucklesberry, Lenoir, NC; d. 2 Dec 1925, Institute, Lenoir, NC).
John Thomas GRAY m., 1869, Mary Pauline FAUCETTE (b. ca. 1846, Alamance County. NC; d. 1921, Lenoir, NC). Mary Pauline FAUCETTE was the daughter of John FAUCETTE and Parthenia ARMSTRONG, Alamance, NC.
3.        Charlotte (Lottie) GRAY (b. ca. 1844, Bucklesberry, Lenoir, NC; d. ?).
It is thought that Charlotte (Lottie) GRAY d. unmarried.
4.        Sarah (Sallie) GRAY (b.15 June 1846, Lenoir Co, N.C.-d. 19 Mar 1933, Stuart, Martin, FL).
Sarah (Sallie) GRAY m. (1 Dec. 1867, Kinston, Lenoir Co., N.C.) Benjamin PARKS (b. 15 Aug 1847, New Hope, Wayne, NC; d. 27 Sep 1925, Stuart, Martin Co., FL). Benjamin PARKS was the son of John PARKS (b. 6 Sep 1826, Wayne Co., NC; d. 12 Nov 1898, Piney Grove Cem, Seven Springs, Wayne Co., NC) and Chloe Miranda SUTTON, (b. 29 Sep 1828, Lenoir, NC; d. 5 May 1898, Piney Grove Cem, Seven Springs, Wayne Co., NC). Chloe Miranda SUTTON was the daughter of Benjamin2 SUTTON and Mary Jane HINES, Lenoir, NC)
