A. HORNSBY DIES SUDDENLY IN DE LEON STORE MON.

              The family and their many friends were shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden death of Mr. Arlo Hornsby last Monday. He had not been in ill health, other than feeling indisposed but was troubled with a heart ailment which had given him some concern. He and his wife had come into town from their farm home six miles south of de Leon to have the doctor prescribe for Mr. Hornsby. He collapsed in a local store before seeing the doctor and when the doctor rushed from his office  to administer to him, it was thought that death had already insued.

              Arlo Hornsby was born in Elmore County, Ala., September 26, 1896 and was just past 55 years of age when overtaken by death. He had lived in Comanche County 46 years, making his home in the Downing community where he was held in the highest esteem by a large circle of friends. He was married to Miss Sarah Ann Kerley September 21, 1918. To this union were born two sons.

              Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Ann Hornsby and two sons, Belon of Jacksboro and Truman of Ailene, and four brothers, W. d., M. D., and J. G., all of De Leon and G. C. C. Hornsby of Brownwood.

              The funeral services were held at the Primitive Baptist Church, this church being his preference and choice. The services were conducted by Rev. M. L. Welch, pastor, and assisted by Rev. Thomas, a lifelong friend of the family.

              Burial was at the Downing cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral and burial arrangements were in charge of Higginbotham Mortuary.

              Mr. Hornsby had lived a noble life. He was a good citizen, always active in community life. He will be missed.
