ASSAD, Mrs. Mary
    Mrs. Mary Assad, 78, a former Donora resident, died in her sleep yesterday morning after a long illness at the home of her son, Albert S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where she had resided since the death of her husband, Massod, in 1960.
     Mrs. Assad was born in Barshen, Syria, April 20, 1883, ad came to Donora in 1915.
     Surviving are five sons, Albert of Connellsville; Michael of Eldora; Daniel of San Diego, Calif.; William of Fellsburg and Samuel of Cleveland, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
     Friends are being received at the Richard E. Lawson Funeral Home, Donora.

BENAMATI, Mrs. Adelaide (VIVIAN)
     Mrs. Adelaide (Vivian) Benamati, 59, of Clarksville R. D. 1, died Saturday at 3 a.m. in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
     She was born May 31, 1907, in Monessen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vivian.
     She was a member of St. Thomas R. C. church of Clarksville, St. Thomas Confraternity of Christian Mothers of Clarksville; Catholic Daughters of America, Carmichaels Court, and Morgan Township Society of Farm Women.
     She is survived by her husband, Frank, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Frances) PORTIER of Clarksville, Mrs. Kathryn BEDOSKY of Jefferson; and one son, Bernard of Mather; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Helen ORGANTINI, Mrs. Isabel Sanfransisco of Norristown, Pa., Mrs. Emma BONGIORNO of Charleroi of Charleroi, and Mrs. Adeline BATTISTONI of Grand Rapids, Mich., formerly of Mather; two brothers, Albert Vivian and Adolph Vivian of Norristown; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Alfred Vivian of Monessen.
     Friends are being received at the late home.

BRACKEMEYER, Edward Jr.

Edward M. BRACKEMEYER Jr., 74, of 2330 Lantana Rd., Lantana, Fla., died Dec 16 in Florida. he
had been a resident of Donora for 30 years and was once head of the planning department of the former
Donora Works of U. S. Steel Corp. Survivors include his widow, Clara; two daughters, Mrs. Henry
(Martha) SCHMITT, who is stationed with her husband, Dr. Henry Schmitt at the Air Force Academy in
Colorado and Mrs. Alec (Helen) McCULLOCH of Cleveland and eight grandchildren. Services were
held Dec. 18 with cremation to follow.

BRADLEY, Charles L.
    Charles L. Bradley, 64 of 321 Market street, Belle Vernon, died March 18, 1959 at 5:45 a. m. at his home.
     He was born in Mt. Morris, Pa., October 13, 1894, and was employed as a watchman for the Pittsburgh Steel Company. he was a veteran of World War One, and was a member of the American Legion Post of Belle Vernon.
     He is survived by one son, Harold J. Bradley at home, two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Frances) BOLTZE, Belle Vernon, Miss Mabel Bradley at home, two brothers, Guy Bradley of Belle Vernon, and Clarence Bradley of Baltimore, Maryland, two sisters, Mrs. Estella HOWARD of Uniontown and Mrs. Elmer (Olive) Graham of Camp Hill, Pa.

     Mrs. Mary Gertrude Britt, 66, of 837 Monongahela street, Belle Vernon, died at her home, January 10, 1960, at 9 a.m.
     She was born in West Brownsville, May 21, 1893, and had been a resident of Belle Vernon and vicinity for fifty years. She was a member of the Brownsville Methodist church.
     She is survived by her husband, Elmer L. Britt, three sons, John of Indianapolis, Indiana, James of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, and Elmer Jr., of Fairhope, two daughters, Mrs. Clarkson (Emma) BOOK of Belle Vernon, and Mrs. Raymond (Ella Mae) OWENS of Belle Vernon, R. D. 3, eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mrs. Josephine Corso, 74, of 320 Ash St., California, died Wednesday at 11:40 p.m.
She was born Oct. 21, 1893 in Italy, a daughter of Philip and Anna CASCIO Ferrere, and lived
40 years in California. She was married to Antonio Corso, who died Nov. 15, 1959.
She is survived by one son, Philip, of Fairfax, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Anita COLE, of
Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary POLETZ, of Roscoe, and Mrs. Pauline CAPPALONGA, of
Baltimore Md.; six grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.

COWEN, Floyd W.
OWNER OF ROSCOE LEDGER DIES OF HEART ATTACK
     Floyd W. Cowen, 60, of 333 Lynn St., Roscoe, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home, Saturday afternoon at 3:35 o'clock.
     Mr. Cowen owned and operated The Roscoe Ledger, a newspaper established by his father in 1899.
     He was a member of the Charleroi Lodge 494, B.P.O.E., and the Charleroi Lodge F.O.E., 390.
     He was born in Roscoe, Nov. 20, 1901, the son of Joe T. S. and Lottie Bell Cowen.
     He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dora NICOLETTO Cowen, who is Roscoe Postmaster, and one son, Joe T. S. Cowen, II, Roscoe.
     Friends will be received at the Eckert Funeral Home, Roscoe, during the hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.

     David T. Crow of Fallowfield Township, Charleroi R.D. 2, died January 18, 1960 at 10:45 p.m., at his home.
     Mr. Crow was born in Fallowfield Township January 4, 1882, the son of James T. and Mary McMAHAN Crow. He was a member of the First Christian church of Charleroi, and was a retired farmer and thresherman.
     Preceded in death by his wife, Millie E. WILSON Crow in 1953, and a son, Charles in 1943, he is survived by three sons, Oscar W. Crow at home, Paul F. Crow, Charleroi R.D. 1, Curtis M. Crow, Charleroi R.D. 1, one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Anna Mary) BIGI, Charleroi R. D. 2, one brother, Curtis L. Crow of Tuscon, Arizona, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    Mrs. Annie H. Dale, 98, of Allenport, died at her home, March 17, 1959, at 8:30 p. m., following a lengthy illness.
     Mrs. Dale was a resident of this area for many years, and was a member of the First Methodist church of Charleroi.
     She is survived by four nieces, Miss Gladys Y. Dale, at home, Mrs. Catherine PROUTY, Miss Winifred BRITTAIN and Miss Hillery Brittain of England, and two nephews, William and Joseph YOXALL, also in England.
     Also surviving are twenty step-grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and twenty-five great great grandchildren.

DAWSON, William R. Sr.
    William R. Dawson, Sr., 79, of 128 Jean St., Belle Vernon, died today at 6:31 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.
     Mr. Dawson had lived in Belle Vernon 17 years, coming to Belle Vernon from Monessen.
     He was a conductor for the P. & L. E. Railroad, retiring in 1955.
     Mr. Dawson, who was born at New Salem Sept. 13, 1887, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon.
     Surviving are his widow, Margaret MONKS Dawson; three sons, Gerald Lee Dawson of Detroit, Mich., Ralph B. Dawson of Rialto, Calif., William R. Dawson Jr. , staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Orlando (Arlene) FOREMAN and Mrs. Frank (Margaret) CAMPBELL of Monessen; a step-son, James R.      She was born August 18, 1893, in Poland and was a member of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, Bentleyville, and Polish Roman Catholic Union of American No. 991.
     Surviving are her husband, John Deresh; two daughters, Eleanor, at home; and Edith, of Pittsburgh; and two sisters, Mrs. Violet SLOAT, of Mentor, Ohio, and Mrs. Sara McFADDEN, of Akron, Ohio.

    Mrs. Hattie A. Donaldson of 1002 Garfield St., Roscoe, PA died Monday, October 17, 1983 at 6:30 pm in the Kozy Pine Nursing Home, Coal Center, PA. She was 95 years old.
    Mrs. Donaldson was born March 1, 1888 in Germany, a daughter of the late Hermann and Elizabeth Rahnke.
    She was Protestant by faith.
    Mrs. Donaldson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Donaldson in 1955, daughter Beuleh in 1911, and by a son Robert Donaldson in 1964.
    Surviving is one son, John Donaldson of Roscoe, three daughters, Mrs. George (Irene) Duvall of Roscoe, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Garrett of Elco, and Mrs. Robert (Doris) O'Neil of Coal Center; one daughter-in-law Jeanette Donaldson of Charleroi, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, and Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday until the hour of services at 11 am in the funeral home.
    Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Fayette City, PA.

    Robert Donaldson of Good Street, Roscoe, died in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital, December 14, 1955, at 7:55 a.m.
    Mr. Donaldson was born in Roscoe, July 9, 1886, the son of Peter and Lydia Giles Donaldson. He was a member of the Dutch Club of Roscoe, and was a retired river pilot for the Jones and Laughlin Company.
    He is survived by his wife Hattie Rahnke Donaldson, two sons, Robert of Perryopolis, John of Roscoe, three daughters, Mrs. George (Irene) Duvall, Roscoe, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Garrett, Elco and Mrs. Robert (Doris) O'Neil of Coal Center, two sisters, Miss Lillian Donaldson and Mrs. Lydia Simpson of Roscoe, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
    Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Fayette City, Pennsylvania

DUBOY, George
    Services will be held tomorrow for George DUBOY, 78, of House 224, Cresent Heights, who died Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Akron Nursing Home, Washington, Pa.
     He was born June 26, 1888, in Austria, the son of John and Mary Duboy. He had resided in Cresent Heights 33 years.
     He was a member of St. Nicholas G. C. Church, Brownsville, and Richeyville Local 1787 of United Mine Workers of America. he had worked at the Cresent mine.
     Surviving is a niece, Mrs. Ann BANKEY of Cresent Heights, with whom he made his home, a sister, Mrs. Pauline REHULA of Charleroi, and several nieces and nephews. friends are being received at the Paul A. D'Altorio Funeral Home, California.

DURSH, Stephen
    Stephen Dursh, 88, of 407 Main St., Bentleyville, died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday in Brownsville General Hospital.
     Mr. Dursh was born May, 1873, in Lithuania. He came to the United States as a young man and was employed at Bethlehem Mines Corp. from 1902 until his retirement a few years ago.
     He was a member of St. Luke's R. C. Church and Polish National Alliance, Bentleyville and UMWA Local 1190, Ellsworth.
     Surviving are his wife, Mary; two daughters, Rosalie, wife of Louis DEMETER, Carroll Twp. and Cecelia, wife of John L. ERMLICK, William F.
     William F. Ermlick, Sr., of Stockdale, died yesterday in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 6:41 p.m. after a short illness.
     Mr. Ermlick was retired from the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. and was a member of Roscoe Presbyterian Church, Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 417 of East Palestine, Ohio, Consistory of Couldersport, American Legion Post 801 of Roscoe.
     He was a World War veteran.
     Born in Newell, Mr. Ermlick was a son of the late Herman and Emma ENDEMAN Ermlick.
     Surviving are his widow, Mary KING Ermlick,; two sons, Donald of Arlington, Va., and William Jr. of Roscoe; two daughters, Mildred and Betty at home; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Minnie) SCHACH and Mrs. Hennrietta HARRIS, both of Stockdale; five grandchildren.

     Mrs. Ida M. Garlick of 106 Lookout Ave., Charleroi, died yesterday at 2:30 p.m. in the Ankrom Nursing Home at Washington, Pa.
     Mrs. Garlick was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi.
     Born in Elizabeth, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah ANDERSON Jenkins.
     Her husband, Walter G. died in 1937.
     Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
     Friends are being received at the Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home, Charleroi, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.

     Funeral services for Albert J. Gnip Sr., 94, of 941 McMahon Ave., Monessen, who died on Friday at 5:50 p.m. were held this morning.
     Survivors include three sons, John of Donora, Albert Jr. of Monessen and Joseph of Pricedale; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Helen) POCATKO if Geneva, Ohio; Mrs Gizella SEPESI if San Bernadino, Calif.l 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
     Blessing services were held from the Raymond D. Dalfonso Funeral Home, Monessen, at 9 a.m. in charge of the Rev. Joseph Gajdosik, pastor of Most Holy Name of Jesus R. C. Church, Monessen. Interment took place in Grandview Cemetery.

    Mrs. Gollick was born December 16, 1860, in Fayette City, the daughter of Jeremiah and Emmaline Logan Abbott.
    She is survived by two sons, William of Dearborn, Michigan, Howard of Charleroi, R. D. #1, four daughters, Mrs. Clementine Stark, Roscoe, Mrs. Ella Pomerson, Sandusky, Ohio, Mrs. Bertha O'Neil, Coal Center, R. D. #1, and Mrs. Emma McCusker of Charleroi, one brother, Jerry Abbott of Cleveland, Ohio, two sisters, Mrs. Ida Wright, Granville, Mrs. Mattie Brewer, Lowber, thirty grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

     Mrs. Frances Mae Gregg, 54, of 331 Phillips St., Speers, died yesterday at 7:25 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.
     Born in Fallowfield Twp., Jan. 23, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Daniel B. and Ollie L WINNETT Watkins.

     Surviving are her husband, Thomas E.; a son, Gary L. of Long Branch; one grandson; a brother, Floyd L. Watkins of Donora; one sister, Mrs. John C. HARTMAN of Allenport.

Mrs. Edith Jenkins, Area's 'Girl Scout Mother', is Dead.
     Mrs. Edith W. Jenkins, :Charleroi's Girl Scout Mother", died Saturday at 9:55 p.m.
     Mrs. Jenkins, whose home was at 308 Washington Ave., Charleroi, would have celebrated the 87th anniversary of her birth tomorrow.
     She was born Aug. 16, 1879, in McKeesport, the daughter of William H. and Sara E. SOLES West. She came to Charleroi as a bride in 1901. Her husband, John Jenkins, died in January, 1962
     Mrs. Jenkins, who was known throughout the Valley for her activities in the Girl Scout program, was a member of the troop committee when the first Girl Scout Troop was organized in Charleroi in 1926, She has remained a registered Girl Scout adult worker since that time and was named an honorary Girl Scout member. She served as Charleroi Girl Scout Commissioner, secretary to the Charleroi Girl Scout Council, in several other capacities, and on troop committees until about four years ago. Though inactive in recent years she was registered each year in n associate capacity.
     She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi, and was president of the Quilters Group of the church. She was also a member of Charleroi Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Charleroi Garden Club, ad a charter member of the Charleroi Golden Age Club.
     She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. F. (Edith) TAYLOR, Meriden, Conn., and Mrs Ruth LAUDERBAUGH at home; one son, J. W. Jenkins of Charleroi R. D. 1; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three brothers, Howard, Edward and Harry West are deceased.
     Friends are being received at the Harold L Schrock Funeral Home, Charleroi, during the hours of 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.

     John Jenkins, 87, of 422 Washington Ave., Charleroi, retired employee of the State Dept. of the Nureau of Food and Chemistry, died Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
     Mr. Jenkins was born in Elizabeth, March 25, 1874.
     He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi, F and A. M. Lodge 615, Charleroi, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of New Castle, Syria Temple, Pittsburgh, and Knights Templar, 80. He also belonged to the Charleroi Lodge, 494, B.P.O.E., and the F.O.E. Lodge, 390, Charleroi.
     He is survived by his widow, Edith WEST Jenkins, one son, J. William Jenkins, Charleroi R. D. 2, two daughters, Mrs. John F. (Edith) TAYLOR, Rockfall, Conn., Mrs. Ruth LAUDERBAUGH, Charleroi, one sister, Mrs. Ida GARLICK, Charleroi, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

     Mrs. Sally Kate Jones, 89, of 4 Mulberry St., Belle Vernon, died yesterday at 10:45 a.m. at her home after a short illness.
     Born in Pike Run, West Brownsville, on Oct. 8, 1878, she had been in Belle Vernon 51 years.
     Her husband, Joseph, died in 1960.
     Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jennie BARBOUR at home; two sons, George of Gary, Ind., and Harry of Belle Vernon; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

     Frank Joseph Lukich, 47, of Scenery Hill R. D. 1, died at his home, Saturday at 8 a.m., after an illness of two years.
     He was born July 17, 1919 in Yugoslavia, the son of Thomas and Agnes HERCEG Lukich. He had lived in Scenery Hill for three years, and was formerly from Bethel Park.
     He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of St. Clement R. C. Church, Ellsworth and the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 354, Cokeburg.
     He is survived by his widow Margaret MARKOVITCH Lukich, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lukich of Scenery Hill R. D. 1; four sons, Anthony, Frank Jr., Thomas, and Ronald at home; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia YOUNG of Pittsburgh ad Margaret Ann at home.

     John S. Matyi Jr., 45, of Richeyville, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 1 p. m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 1958.
     Mr. Matyi was born Sept. 5, 1912 in Smithton. He was secretary of the Richeyville Miners Club; treasurer of the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Agnes R. C. Church, Richeyville; Vesta Number 5 Local of UMWA and Hungarian Reformation Lodge.

   Nixon (Nick) O’Neil, 65, of Coal Center R. D. #1, a retired foreman at Allenport Plant, Pittsburgh Steel Co. died at West Penn Hospital, this morning, January 23, 1963 at 1:05 a.m.
    He was born in Fayette City, November 30, 1897, the son of the late James and Viola Farquhar O’Neil, and was a member of Clover Hill Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War I.
    Survivors include one son, Robert, and one daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Betty) Lindsay both of Coal Center R. D. #1; two brothers James of Daisytown and Willis O’Neil of Lynnwood; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Mitchell, Mill Run and Mrs. Genieve Davis, Chicago. Four grandchildren also survive.

     Mr. Parenti, a retired miner, was a member of Sons of Italy of Monongahela, Haymakers and Redmen of New Eagle.

     He was retired from the die room of the Page plant of the America Chain and Cable Co., and had been a resident of Monessen for 55 years.
     He was a member of the Greater Beneficial Union of Monessen and St. John the Devine Russian Orthodox Church, Monessen.
     He is survived by his widow, Anna, two sons, John of Monessen, George at home; two daughters, Anne BEREGI and Margaret VITALI at home; and four grandchildren.

   Mrs. Elizabeth Rahnke, aged 85, a pioneer Roscoe resident, died Monday night, August 10, at 11 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ben C. Winnette, of Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Rahnke has been living with her daughter in Columbus for about a year. Two weeks before her death she fell and broke her hip. Pneumonia developing from the injury proved fatal.
    Her husband, Hermann Rahnke, died 27 years ago.
    The deceased was born in Germany and came to America near the turn of the century. Excepting for a short stay in Wilcock, Pa., on coming to this country, she has lived in the Roscoe district ever since. She had a home in Long Branch, but for the last several years she has been living with her daughters. She enjoyed remarkably good health for one her age until she broke her hip.
    Surviving are two sons, August, of Roscoe, and Chris, of Detroit, Michigan, and three daughters, Mrs. Otto Schultz, of Pittsville, Pa., Mrs. Robert Donaldson of Roscoe, and Mrs. Ben C. Winnette, of Columbus, Ohio.
    The remains arrived from Columbus on Tuesday for the funeral. Services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, August 13, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert Donaldson. Rev. G. A. Yoders, of the Methodist Episcopal church, was in charge;
    Interment was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

SALOTTI, Vincent (Funeral Notice)
SALOTTI - Vincent, formerly of Short St. , Monessen, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 1962 at noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Orsete (Rose) GATTINO, Detroit, Michigan, where he made his home since May, 1959. He had been ill for several months. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Josephine) GROSSI, Ferndale, Mich., Mrs. Orsete (Rose) Gattino, Detroit, and Mrs. Lee (Lena) Hagerty, San Fernando, Calif.; two sons, Joseph J. Salotti, Arlington, Va., and Nello Salotti, San Fernando; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Pauldo Salotti, Arlingotn, Va. Friends will be received at the R. A. Billick Funeral Home in Monessen after 1 p.m., Jan. 9. Blessing services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by requiem high mass at 10 a.m. in St. Cajetan R. C. Church, Monessen. The Rev. Nunzio Pirulli, pastor, will officiate. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. R. A. Billick, funeral director.

SWEARER, Mrs. Georgia Anna
    Mrs. Georgia Anna SWEARER, of 622 Washington Rd., Belle Vernon, died yesterday in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 10:20 p.m.
     Mrs. Swearer was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Fayette City.
     Surviving are her husband, Harry; two sons, Raymond of Belle Vernon and Keith of Daiseytown; three grandchildren.
     Friends will be received at the Harold R. Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. beginning tomorrow.

     George Tkach of 75 Market St., Donora, died at his home yesterday about noon, after an illness of six months.
     He was born in Bishop, Pa., and had been a resident of Donora for 39 years.
     He was a retired millwright in the blooming mill department of the U. S. Steel plant, Donora.
     He was a member of St. Dominic R. C. Church of Donora, and was a veteran of World War I.
     He is survived by his widow, Mary HERK Tkach; two brothers, Mike Tkach of Monongahela, R. D. 1, John Tkach of Morgan, Pa., two sisters, Anna JACOBS and Mrs. George (Elizabeth) HERK of Donora.
     Friends will be received at the Paul Macik Funeral Home, Donora, after 7 o'clock tonight.

     Charles L. Vance, 68, of 833 American St., California, died Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the York, Pa., Hospital.
     He was born in Uniontown Sept. 6, 1899, son of Charles H. and Sarah ALBRIGHT Vance. He formerly lived in West Brownsville.
     He was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers.
     Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice BAUGHMAN Vance; a daughter, Mrs. Charles HOOVER of York; a son, Charles of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen ARBUCKLE of Long Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Rena HOPKINS of Pittsburgh; and two brothers, James Vance of Clairton and the Rev. John Vance of Blaine City, Ohio.

     John Homer Whetzel, 67, of Saltsburg, formerly of Brownsville and Belle Vernon, died January 10, 1958, at 10:45 p. m. in the Indiana Memorial Hospital.
     Mr. Whetzel was born in Dawson, March 26, 1890, and has resided in Saltsburg for eleven years, where he was a maintenance worker on the Loyalhanna Flood Control Dam. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Brownsville.
     He is survived by his wife, Mary ROLEY Whetzel, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Vera) JENKINS, Belle Vernon, and Mrs. Dorman (Edith) CUNKLEMAN of Saltsburg, and three grandchildren.

WILLIAMS, Mrs. Bertha (CROW)
    Mrs. Bertha CROW WILLIAMS, 74, of Coal Center R. D. 1, died Wednesday at 10:15 p.m. at her home.
     Mrs. Williams was a member of Coal Center Presbyterian Church, Long Branch Grange, Daughters of America and Rebekah Lodge.
     Born June 25, 1892 in Allen Twp., Washington County, she was a daughter of the late William WILKINS Crow and Olive CRAWFORD Crow.
     Surviving are her husband, Irvin; two brothers, John R Crow of Brownsville and Harry Crow of McKeesport; a sister, Mrs. C. L. Hixenbaugh of Newark, Calif.
     Friends will be received after 6 p.m. today at the Caleffie and Greenleif Funeral Home, California, Pa.

WOOD, Albert Ray
     Albert Ray Wood, 71, of 209 Johnson Ave., Pricedale, died in Aspinwall Veterans Hospital, yesterday at 1:50 a.m.
     He was born in Fairchance and had lived in Pricedale for 30 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
     He had been in failing health for 13 years.
     Survivors are one daughter, Gwendolyn D. Wood of Pricedale; two brothers, Charles Wood of Fairchance and J. R. Wood of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Mrs. Jack (Mary) ECKART, with whom he lived.
     Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Belle Vernon, after 7 p. m. tonight.

WYATT, Paul H.

Paul H. WYATT, 63, of Coal Center R. D. 1, died Dec. 13 in Brownsville General Hospital. He was a
retired X-ray technician at the hospital. In the 1920's, Mr. Wayatt was a member of two Olympic
swimming teams competing in the backstroke. He is survived by his widow, Juanita KNUTH Wyatt; one
son, Thomas H. Wyatt of Nevada; a brother, Arthur J. Wyatt of Bradenton, Fla., and five grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 18 with burial in LaFayette Memorial Park near Brownsville.
