According to Genalogies of Ct Families Vol pg235 he was from Springfield and was born as above. Mary Allis was his 2nd marriage. His children Mary & William of 1st marriage were taken by Indians to Canada along with 2nd wife Mary See NEHGR reference (LR-C85)
