One of five men who began a settlement at Athol on 17 September 1735. Removed his family to Fort Massachusetts, where he was a soldier when it was captured by the Indians 20 August 1746. He, with his wife and five children were carried to Canada. He was redeemed and, with the three younger children, arrived in Boston 31 August 1747. He was killed by Indians near the mouth of Millers River just seven weeks later.
