MONMOUTH, May 7---Lydia V. Carmichael, 64, Rt 3, Dallas, died in a Portland hospital Sunday after a long illness.
Born June 27, 1892, in Sweet Springs, Mo., she had been a resident of the Monmouth and Dallas communities since 1900. A retired teacher, she had taught at the Oak Point school at Independence and at Toledo. She was a member of the Agate Rebekah Lodge, Monmouth Grange and the First Christian Church at Monmouth.
Surviving is a son, Perry E. Carmichael, Estacada; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Young, Touchet, Wash., and Mrs. Frances Larsen, Redlands, Calif., Three brothers, F. B.,Wilmer, and Perry Powell, all of Monmouth; one sister Mrs. Frieda Winn, Portland; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at the First Christian Church, Thursday at 3 p.m., the Rev. Richard Owen, officiating. Interment will be at Fir Crest Cemetery, Monmouth. Smith-Krueger Mortuary is in charge.
