Samuel Powel, son of James Powell and Sallie Randall , was born October 20,1787 in Hardy Co., West Virginia-near the Potomac River. He married Elizabeth Alkire September 25, 1809 in Franklin/Madison Co., Ohio. He died July 14, 1834 in Petersburg, Menard Co., Illinois. Elizabeth Alkire, daughter of John Alkire and Susan ( Nave) Nation , was born 1798. She died 1855.
