Went by Earl
Earl was 11 years younger than Urban.
He had a dairy, chased mining claims (never hit anything much but had several in CA) and eventually worked for the San Francisco Chronicle as a field representative for the circulation department
Earl and Erma never divorced but spent most of their lives living apart.

Earl died at the age of 52 on 12-13-1942 from ________________ . He was buried in San Francisco at ____________________ . In 1976 (after Erma died) his body was exhumed and he was cremated and buried with her in Stockton at the Stockton Rural Cemetery.

What do you remember about Earl?
GRANDPA: (Uncle) When Camille and I went to Reno to get married we had to leave our car in Sacramento because of the snow on Donner Summit which closed the road. Even the train had a hard time making the trip. When we returned to Sacramento Uncle Earl and my father met us and we had dinner and stayed the night at the Senator Hotel before returning to Richmond the next day.

GRANDPA: Earl had a dairy farm in Lodi which he sold and then went north to prospect in Grass Valley, Nevada City and Nevada. He went to the areas where he could check trailings.

GRANDPA: After prospecting Earl went to work in the circulation department of the San Francisco Chronicle. It was here that he remarried in about 1933 but I don't know her name.

GRANDPA: He was a popular and well liked friend and everyone's friend like his brother Urban but never wanted to settle down

KIRBY: Henry Earl was disinterred from the cemetery in South San Francisco, cremated and reinterred in Stockton Rural Cemetery on 12-2-58. He is located next to Erma and Lenore.

I surmise that Erma held off transferring him ujntil Lucilla had passed away. I don't know that for certain, but Lucilla passed away in September 1958, while I was in Hawaii on CinC Pac Flt staff.
