Joseph Fearon HUGHES Obit
Joseph Fearon HUGHES, 68, of 1144 Michigan Avenue, died of a heart attack in the American Sales Book Company's plant at Highland and Beech Avenues. Two workmen discovered his body on the second floor of the building this morning (Jan. 14, 1938) at 7:45 o'clock. Police and Dr. Harry R. EMES, coroner, were summoned. The death, said Dr. EMES, was due to natural causes. The body was removed to the Garner Funeral Home at eighteenth Street and Weston Avenue. Mr. HUGHES had been employed as janitor by the Sales Book Company for 15 years. Surviving are - his wife, Mrs. Mary Bella SHEFFLER-HUGHES, three daughters,
- Leona Ruth HUGHES-WILLIAMS, (wife of Merle Clark WILLIAMS) of Tonawanda,
- Mrs. Frances Violet HUGHES-KELLERMAN, (wife of Lloyd George KELLERMAN) of Akron, OH. and
- Miriam Grace HUGHES-McCLAIN, wife of J.B. McCLAIN) of Liberty TX. and four sons and their wives:
- Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Martin & Margaret Helen BARKER-HUGHES,
- Mr. & Mrs. Harry Russel and Dorothy V. SHOONMAKER-HUGHES,
- Mr. & Mrs. Leathed Rhoades & Edna JOHNSON- HUGHES and
- Mr. & Mrs. Richard Harrison & Dorothy Leonore WADDILOVE-HUGHES all of Niagara Falls, NY.
Funeral services will be held in the Garner Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. John Ford LEFFLER, St. James M.E. Church, officiating. Cremation services will follow in Buffalo.
