Mrs. Cora Evelyn SPEER_ROTH was born in Brooklyn Co. Wisconsin April 25, 1885 and died at her home in Comstock, Custer Co. NE. Nov. 4, 1916 aged 31 years, 6 mo. and 9 days.

At the age of 4 years, she emigrated to NE. with her parents, arriving in Thayer, York Co. NE. Jan. 15, 1889. She came to Westcott, Custer Co. NE. March 19, 1889 and grew to womanhood in Douglas Grove precinct amd always lived in the Douglas Grove precinct with the exception of three years.

In 1901, she was united in marriage to Clifford I. (Ivan) ROTH and in 1902 they moved to Sargent and lived one year, again moving back to Douglas Grove precinct where they resided until the fall of 1909 when they moved to Rago KS. After residing there one year, they again moved to Douglas Grove precinct and lived there until MArch, 1915, When they moved to Comstock where she lived until she passed away on Nov. 4th, 1916 from the effects of an operation for appendicitis.

She was converted in the Congregational Church at Westcott early in life and died in the faith and hope of a future life.

Mrs. Roth was a very energetic woman posessed of rare talents and whenever she assumed the responsibilities of any task whatever, she spared no efforts to complete it.

She was a loving mother, a kind and generous friend and true wife. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and two sons, Ralph, Aged 12 years and Jay, 7 years old and one sister, besides her other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church conducted by Pastor D.M. RICKETT attended by a large number of sympathizing friends and the remains followed to the Westcott Cemetery by a large (c?) of people where they were tenderly laid to rest by loving friends to await the dawning of the resurrection morn.
