FLOYD EUGENE ROTH

Floyd E. ROTH of Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co. IOWA, died Sunday, March 1986, at a local hospital following a brief illness. He was 67 years old.


Floyd was born February 13, 1919 to Richard Edgar and Minnie Ann DURHAM_ROTH of Comstock, Custer Co. NE. He was the youngest of seven children and graduated from Comstock High School in 1938. Floyd was one of the best athletes in Comstock and did really well in the State track meets. He attended Chadron College for two years prior to enlisting in the army in June of 1940. Serving in the Armed Forces until October of 1945. During his tour of service, he was a member of the Seventh Armored Division and participated in the "Battle of The Bulge".


Upon his return to civilian life, he attended Van Sant School of Business and was employed as bookkeeper and accountant of Benson Feed Mills on Omaha. From here, Floyd moved to Council Bluffs where he was a general foreman and supervisor for Allied Mills for 30 years. He was in Omaha 23 years and Atlantic seven years, retiring in 1981.


Floyd was a member of the Seventh Armored Division Association, American Italian Heritage Society and the Lutheran Church.


Survivors include his wife Domenica "Nickie", Two daughters, Donna Cherico of Osage Beach, MO. and Mrs. Charles (Catharine "Tizzy") Wredt of Council Bluffs, two brothers, Levi of Gordon, Sheridan Co. NE. and Arthur of Akron, Summit Co. OH. and four grandchildren,


Services were held at the Cutler Funeral Home with private burial services. Memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society
