RITES TUESDAY FOR WILLIAM B. ROTH

Funeral services were held from Saint Mary's Catholic church, in Sargent, Nebraska, on Tuesday March 3, 1959 for William B. ROTH, 80, who passed away suddenly Saturday, February 28, 1959 of a coronary heart attack at his home near Comstock, Nebraska. Rev. Joseph SZYNAL officiated at requiem mass.

Internment was in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Sargent, Nebraska.

The rosary was recited Monday evening at the SPOONER-RHOAD Funeral Home, which was in charge of arrangements.

William B. ROTH, son of Virginia EUBANK and Jonas S.(Specht) ROTH, was born September 11, 1878 at Brocton, Illiois.

At the very early age of one year, he came with his parents by wagon train to Nebraska, homesteading west of Comstock, where his entire childhood was spent with the exception of five years the family lived in Gilliam, Missouri.

On April 23 1907, he married Katherine SULLIVAN, leaving immediately by covered wagon for Kingman, Kansas, where they engaged in farming.

In 1910, they moved to a farm north of Comstock in the Longwood community, which has been his home for nearly fifty years.

He had a great devotion for his family and home, and was known for his love of horses in which he took great pride in the traning and caring of many beautiful horses that he owned during his lifetime.

Besides Mrs. ROTH, surviving are two daughters and a son, Mrs. Loretta WALDMANN, Comstock Nebraska; Mrs. Margaret Mary MIDDLETON, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Robert William ROTH, Comstock, Nebraska.

He was preceeded in death by two sons, Raymond Jonas, who passed away July 21, 1943 and Leo William, in infancy.

Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Charles MATTOX, Sargent, Nebraska: Mrs. L. R. BENNETT, Tulare, California; Edward ROTH, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Fred ROTH, Martin, South Dakota; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pall bearers were nephews, Jay ROTH, Ormand PIERCE, Victor HYDE, Robert SMITH, Steve SMITH, John J. McCARTY.
