Moses Benjamin AMBROSE was born about 1839 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.20,21 He served in the military in 1865 in the Civil War.98 Enlisted as a Private on 15 February 1865 in Company K, 146th Indiana Infantry. Mustered out on 31 August 1865 in Baltimore, Maryland. He applied for a pension for his service 21 May 1876, #214825. His minor child, W. Ambrose, applied for a pension 19 Sep 1911, from Missouri, #729033. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Pike County, Indiana.99 Pleasantville, Monroe Twp., Enumerated 2 Aug 1870, 211/211 Living with David and Mary McNEALLY, Ambers, Moses 35 M W Farmer $800/1375 IN Moses died about 1900 at the age of 61. Pension application for young child filed Sep 1900. Moses may have had a daughter, Sarah B. (b 1868). It appears she would be by a second wife. Moses Benjamin AMBROSE and Martha LANCE were married in October 1861 in Pike County, Indiana.100 They100 were divorced before 1870.100 Martha LANCE, daughter of John LANCE and Ellen [--?--], was born about 1835 in Kentucky.72 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Pike County, Indiana.90 Monroe Twp., Enumerated 4 Jun 1880, 59/61 Stephens, Obed W M 45 Farmer KY Martha W F 44 Wife KY VA KY Florence A.
