1762.4 Born in America shortly
after his parents arrived from England. Enlisted in Virginia army at age 16. Served
under George Washington. He served in the military between 1779 and 1783 in
Revolutionary War.5 He lived
in Sexton Creek, Clay County, Kentucky about 1808.5 Joseph appeared in the census in 1810 in Adair County,

Joseph AMBROSE and Sarah Elizabeth RICKETTS were married in 1781 in
Virginia.4,10,11 They moved
first to Adair County, Kentucky; second to Sexton Creek in Clay Co., about 1808.
After Sarah's death, he moved to Estill Co., Kentucky, to live with his son, Joseph
Jr. Sarah Elizabeth RICKETTS was born in
1764 in England.4,9 She died after 1840 at the age of
76 in Clay (now Owsley) County, Kentucky.9,12 Joseph AMBROSE-10839 and
