Charles Herbert "Herb" Ferguson, 73, Versailles, died Dec. 22, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Oct. 31, 1927, in Versailles, a son of Charles H. and Alma May Metcalf Ferguson. He was married to Cloe Ward.

He was a retired chef and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: four sons, Charles Herbert Ferguson Jr., Bill Ferguson and Bob Ferguson, all of Gravois Mills, and David Ferguson, Raytown; two daughters, Pam Richards, Florence, and Angie Raines, Versailles; one brother, Paul Ferguson, state of Texas; one sister, Lois Schick, Eldon; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Big Rock Cemetery, near Barnett.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
