MONROE HAYS DEAD
Monroe Hays, a pioneer citi- zen of Morgan County died last September 16 at his home in
Versailles. He had lived for many years southeast of Versailles. He was the father of a big
family of children and was a hardwork- ing man and was a good citizen. He was 85 years
old. He had lived in Morgan County for over fifty years. he was generally called "Uncle
Boag". The re- mains were laid to rest in the Big Rock Cemetery Wednesday and many
old time friends followed the body of their friend to its last resting place.
