Joseph Elmer Routon, 64, died Feb. 10, 1946 at his home in Barnett. He was born May 9, 1882, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William I. Routon. He married miss Mary Alice Piper August 5, 1906. She died Feb. 10, 1920; exactly 27 years before her husband. A barber more than 45 years - he was employed at the Midway Barber shop in Eldon. He was a member of the Woodsman. He is survived by a daughter: Mrs. Clifford Bunn of Barnett, 2 sons: Vincel Routon of Kansas City, Kansas and Maurice Routon of Omaha Nebraska; six grandchildren; a brother S.E. Routon of Barnett;three sisters: Mrs. Leona Jackson, Mrs. Roy Kingery and Miss Claude Routon. Two children: Jewell Marie and Merle Beatrice and two brothers: Sumpter and Olin Routon preceded him in death.Joseph Elmer Routon Funeral services were held at the Eldon Christian Church with the Rev. A.L. Alexander officiating. Burial was in the Big Rock cemetery, Morgan county, MO. Relatives who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Routon and daughters of Omaha Neb. Mr. & Mrs. Vincel Routon and children of Kansas City Kansas, Mrs. Sumpter Routon of Windsor, Mr.& Mrs. Fred Jackson and son of Pleasant Hill and Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Routonof Centralia. |
