I don't have alot of leads on Hiram Shockley. I have the 1860 Morgan Co. Census records that lists Hiram and wife Jane, born in Tennessee. Three children are listed: Minerva (My great grandmother), Thomas H., and Mary J. I would appreciate any leads you may have on Hiram or Jane. Thanks

I think I told you that I don�t have a lot on Hiram (Harm) Shockley. A few stories my grandmother Augusta Mae Noland told me and tidbits of information from uncles. I�ve seen has grave a number of times. It is just over the fence on a dirt road, and under a tree. There�s a tombstone that reads, �In loving memory of Hiram Shockley�, February 4, 1823 died June 25, 1893. (one of his grandchildren is buried at his feet. (a baby of Susan�s) Hiram H. Shockley b. Feb 4, 1823 in Bagnell, Missouri. d. June 25, 1893 and buried on Winchester Ridge, close to the old home place at Monte Ne, Arkansas. Married Jane R. Moore September 1828, Bagnell, Missouri. I have that Jane died 1867. ---------------------- * This information (children of Hiram Shockley) came from a family bible in possession (at one time) of Stella Fletcher daughter of James Austin Noland and Augusta Mae Sprinkles Noland. Not sure where it is now. --------------------------- Hiram had two brothers Tom and Carl Shockley - according to my aunt Mary Julian. (daughter of James Austin Noland and Augusta Mae Noland.) ---------------------- Family Members Buried at Hickory Creek The following family members are buried at Hickory Creek Cemetery Located: Go South of Lowell, Arkansas to Hwy 264, go East 5 or 6 miles. On the chain link fence at the entrance is this plaque, Hickory Creek Alex Sigmon March 10, 1830-Dec. 19, 1910 Pioneer settlers of Hickory Creek Area donated this land for school, church and cemetery use.

Cora Noland b. 1919 d. 1921 (daughter of Damas Noland, son on James Henry Noland and also brother of James Austin Noland.)

Ezekiel M. Noland b. March 19, 1881 d. March 11, 1915. (son of James Henry Noland and also brother of James Austin Noland.)

Infant son of J.A. Noland b. November 3, 1919 (son of James Austin and Augusta Mae Noland.)

Louis Noland b. September 13, 1936 d. Dec 1, 1937 - (Was the son of Biarl and Ruth Noland, and grandson of James Austin and Augusta Mae Noland. Died from serious burns of wood stove.)

Rudoff Noland b. January 22, 1914 and died June 22, 1928. (Son of James Austin and Augusta Mae Noland.)

Hiram Noland b. 1874 d. 1905 (Son of James Henry Noland and Manervia A. Shockley. He was Hiram H. Noland and was called High.)

Shockley, Albert Frederick b. Oct. 3, 1894 died August 17, 1967. (Son of Willliam Edward Shockley and Louisa Cager or Carriger.)

There are other family members buried here, but have died since 1973.

Other information I�ve gathered on Hiram (Harm) Shockley from aunts, uncles, and a cousin is that Hiram was a hunter for the military during the civil war. (According to my uncle, Charlie said he was a buffalo hunter.)
