He married twice, first Maggie Lowe when he was 22, with whom he had a son George Lowe Livesley 1918; then, at 41, he married Mildred Tucker. Carl and Maggie divorced two years after the fire but she remained well known and well loved by his family. He and Mildred had three more children 1935-42, Mary, Carol and Margaret.
