Thomas Follansby, b. 1637, joiner, finished Portsm. church and schoolhouse. In 1671 he had moved from Great Isl. and hired the Abraham Corbett house near the meetinghouse, when Mr. Henry Dering, also removing to Strawb. Bank, hired the same house under a better title, whereupon the sheriffs turned T.F. out without notice in the depth of winter with no habitation provided for 'his wife and many smale children.' In 1673 his w. Mary 34, ab. midnight hearing Rachel Webster cry murder, rose up and went to the window and asked said Webster why out of her house at that time of night. In 1674 his 'boy' had done work for the town. Rem. ab. 1677 to Newbury, O.A. there 1678. First w. Mary, 2d Sarah (either she or a dau. d. 6 Nov. 1682), 3d (int. 4 Apr. 1713) Jane Moseman of Boston. THOMAS1 FOLLANSBEE, Sen., of Portsmouth and Newbury, "joiner," [b. ab. 1640?]; m. 1st, as early as 1660, Mary (___); 2d, Sarah (___), who prob. d. Nov. 6, 1683[Nb]; prob. 3d, April 4, 1713 [Nb], *Jane Moseman of Boston. He was of Portsm. 1665-'71; of Nb. 1677 and later; liv. 1713 and prob. 1726. Children: Rebecca, Anne, Mary, Thomas, Francis, Hannah. *The Nb. rec. gives this as mar. of Thomas Sen. It seems improbable that he should have married a third wife 30 yrs. after the death of his second wife; but Abigail, the wife of Thomas2 seems to have been living at that time. Thomas Jr. m. Hannah March in 1716. He was Thomas 3d at that time, if Thomas1 was then living in Nb. There was a wid. Sarah of Nb. ment. in a deed, 1748, whom we can not identify. It is possible that the Sarah who d. in 1683 was dau. of Thomas1; but it does not seem prob. that the wife of Thomas1 was living in 1748. The time and place of the death of Thomas1 are uncertain.
