| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - John Wight was one of the thirteen original settlers of Medfield, and the first to die; freeman 1653, May 18, and d. Sep. 28 aft; m. Ann ___, and had an only child, Abiel, who m. Samuel Manning. [ref 13:128] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - JOHN, Medfield, s. of Thomas of the same, brot. from England. by his f. d. 28 Sept. 1653, having been adm. freem. in May bef. and by w. Ann had only ch. Abigail, b. 1 Jan. foll. His wid. m. 11 Apr. 1655, Isaac Bullard. [ref 20] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ? The will of John Witt, senior, 12 September, 1675, proved 28 March, 1676, mentions daughter Ann Burnitt. Savage makes it "Barney" and does not appear to have thought John Witt and John Wight were identical, but there seems some probability that they were. [ref 39:26] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - JOHN, son of Thomas and Alice, was born in England. His name is in the Dedham Records only in the instance before mentioned of a transfer of land from Thomas Wight "unto John Wight his sonne" in 1652. He removed to Medfield the same year, and died September 28, 1653. His name is not in his father's Will, as he was not living at the time it was made. In the settlement of his estate, the Probate Court directed that it be equally divided between his widow Anne and his only child, Abihaile, born (three months after his decease) January 1, 1653--the year commencing in March. | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ANNE, "the daughter of Robert Burnappe of Hodsden and of Anne his wife bap. 15 Apl. 1632;" died March, 1695. [ref 39:26] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ANN BURNAP, baptized 15 April, 1632, at Great Amwell, Herts., was six years old when she came with her parents to New England. She married about 1653, John, son of Thomas and Alice Wight of the Isle of Wight. He was born in England, and died 28 September, 1653. [ref 39:39] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Widow Ann Wight m. (2d) 1655, Apr. 11, Isaac Bullard, of Dedham, and by this marriage had a large family; and she m. (3d) David Jones, senior, of Dorchester. [ref 13:128] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ann then married, 11 April, 1655, Isaac, born in England, son of William Bullard and his first wife. He died in 1676, his parents having settled in Dedham. Children: Hannah, Sarah, Samuel, Judith or Judah, Ephra, Ann, John, Mary, William. [ref 39:40] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The widow married again, 18 March, 1685, David, born 20 November, 1664 (although he seems to have been very much younger than his wife, but it is so given by Savage), son of David and Sarah (Topliff) Goenes (Jones) of Dorchester.
