HENRY, Braintree 1640, by w. Martha had 1643-50: Martha, Samuel, Henry, and by a sec. w. Hannah Pray, perhaps sis. of John of the same, m. 14 Feb. had
Abigail, Hannah, Joseph, Sarah, Mary, Rachel, Deborah, Benjamin, Ruth, Lydia, Elizabeth, Joanna, Rebecca, and five more of unkn. names. In the will of 11 Aug. 1688, pro. 20 Feb. 1691, is provision for the four s. for w. Hannah, and for eleven ds. Abigail Scott, Hannah, Nehemiah Hayden, Sarah Mansfield, Mary, John Thayer, Ruth Thayer, Deborah, Lydia, Rebecca, Rachel, Elizabeth and Joanna; but to the last six, perhaps ch. of the surv. w. only �20 ea. are giv. The boast on his gr.-stone is, that he was f. of 21 ch. but far better is it thot. to provide for 15. [ref 20]

NEAL, Henry, carpenter, Braintree, had land grant for 3 heads 24 (12) 1639-40. Town Officer. He deposed in Mdx. court 30 (4) 1654, ae. about 35 years. Rem. to Providence, r.I., about 1657; bought house and land, which sold in 1661, after returning to Br. Active in town business to old age. Wife Martha was bur. 23 (5) 1653. He m. 11 (12) 1655, Hanah, dau. of Quinton Pray. He d. Oct. 16, 1688, ae. 71 years (Gr.St.) The statement is made on his gravestone that he was the father of 21 children. Will dated Aug. 11 and 12 Sep 1688, prob 27 Feb 1690-1, beq. to wife Hannah, sons, daus and Samuel Allis. Ch. born to second marriage, rec. at Br.: Joseph, Mary, Rachel, Deborah, Benjamin, Ruth, Lydia, Elizabeth, Joanna, Rebecca, Rachel, Abigail. [ref 37:325]
