Sarah Brown; both liv. to old age. 9 ch. [ref 22] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WILLIAM LIBBY, born probably in Scarborough, before the desertion of the town in 1690; married, 11 Nov. 1722, SARAH BROWN, 7-2. He removed to Scarborough in 1719 or 1720. He was chosen constable at the first town meeting. He seems to have been a man whom his townsmen respected. He served at different times as selectman, and in other minor offices. His chief activity, however, was in religious matters; he served on nearly or quite all the committees which the town chose which related to the church. He settled on a farm in the interior of the town, and both he and his wife lived to advanced age. Children abt 1723-40: William, Noah, Mary, Hezekiah, Susanna, Elizabeth, Mehitable, Sarah, William.
