| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GEORGE LIBBY, born in Portsmouth, 20 Jan. 1719; married ELIZABETH, apparently a daughter of Thomas and Ann Harvey of Portsmouth. He was a sea-captain. 25 Feb. 1744, it was voted by the General Assembly of New Hampshire, "that Mr. George Libby be Commissary to go with the forces that go from this Province on ye Expedition agst Louisburg . . . & have four pound ten shillings g pr month for his wages." It appears that he refused to go "for the allowance made him by the Genl Assembly." He was auditor of Portsmouth 1748. He was a member of the "Church of Christ."
