12 Apr 1720 Henry Hobbs conveyed to Thomas Hobbs one half of all his land at Sligo, bounded easterly by the "Nechawonack" river, southerly by Sylvanus Nock�s land, and northerly by that of James Stackpole. On this shore, in the upper part of the "Point district," not far above St. Alban�s cove, the Hobbses built ships in early times, which were easily launched at high tide, this part of the river being deep.
