| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - EBENEZER LIBBY, b. 8 Feb. 1748, in Berwick; married, 16 Dec. 1770, ELIZABETH QUINT of Berwick. He was a farmer and lived about two and a half miles from South Berwick Village, on the road to Portsmouth, on a farm called Old Fields. 26 Nov. 1776, he went out in an American privateer, probably the Charming Polly; at any rate he was one of the crew of that vessel when she was captured, 16 May 1777. He was carried to England. It appears that he was afterward exchanged, but he never reached home. His fate was never known. His widow married, 27 Oct. 1788, Capt. John Gowell of Berwick. Children 1722-abt 75: David, Mary, Elizabeth.
