| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SADLER, Thomas, Kittery. In York court 4 July 1659 Anthony Emery was bondsman for him, suspected of some misbehavior toward Dover ct. At same ct. he and Emery's dau., Rebecca Weymouth were charged with riding about together on the Sabbath. He m. her after her husb. died, had left bef. July 1663 when Emery wanted relief from a forfeited bond, and was in Flushing L.I., in 1667. She was with her fa. at Portsmouth R.I. from where in 1676 'having been for several years in a widow like condition' and left with three small ch., she asked for restoration of her husb.'s cat. on Staten Island in the hands of Jonas Halstead. In 1680, bef. she had m. 3d Daniel Eaton, her fa. deeded her his prop. with remainder to her s. Anthony (Sadler), who was of E. Greenwich R.I., in 1714. Surely her son was William Weymouth alias Sadler in York ct. for abusing ministers in 1681, when John Green paid the costs, but his position in the fam. seems as doubtful as that of her s. Joseph Amory who might have been either Weymouth or Sadler and brot up by gr.fa. Emery. She d. at Little Comp. 18 July 1719. The petn. made in her name for her late husband's prop. on Staten Isl., N.Y., 22 May 1676, represents that he had yrs. bef. aband. her and their three samll children. Of her ch. we know only: William (Weymouth), called Weymouth alias Sadler in Maine rec. 1682. Joseph (Amory), presumably an anack. ch. Anthony (Sadler), made his grf.
