[ref 22] *Stackpole names 14 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Job, b. in 1670, son of James and Elizabeth Emery, married 6 April 1696, Charity, dau. of Jonathan and Sarah (Jenkins) Nason. Lived in South Berwick. Was a deacon and thrice selectman. Died about 1738. His wife died about 1751. Children 1697-1724: Job, Charity, Sarah, Joseph, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Mary, Abigail, Miriam, Jabez, Mercy, Olive. Made his will Feb. 6, 1736-7; proved Dec. 26, 1738; the amount of inventory, �519 10s. His wife made her will March 26, 1748; proved Jan. 6, 1752; amount of inventory, �33 12s. [ref 48:313] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WILL OF JOB EMERY 6 Feb 1736/7 - 26 Dec 1738: In the Name of God amen, The twenty sixth Day of February in the tenth Year of King George the seconds Reign over Great Britain &c Annoq Domini 1736/7, I Job Emery Senr of Berwick in the County of York Yeoman being weak in Body but of perfect mind & memory, Thanks be given unto God Therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die Do make & Ordain this my last Will & Testament, That is to say, Principally & first of all, I give & Recomend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it, and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent and Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Execrs hereafter Named. Nothing doubting but at the Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the mighty Power of God. and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give Demise and Dispose of the same in the following Manner & form. Impr I Give to my Sons Job Benjamin, Jonathan & Jabez my Right in the Comon & undivided Land in Berwick that I have not already Disposed of to be to them their Heirs & Assignis for ever in Equal Shares. Item. I give to my Son Joseph five shillings he haveing already had his Portion in Land. Item. I Give to my Daughters Vizt Charity, Sarah, Eliza Mary Abigail, Miriam, Mary & Olive five pounds a peice to be paid them in bills of Credit as my Execrs can conveniently Do it. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Jabez all my Homestead of Housing & Lands with all ye appurtenances to him his Heirs & assigns for ever. Item. I give to my well beloved Wife Charity all my Personal Estate to her sole use & behoof for ever and my will is that She shall have the use of my Homstead during her Widowhood & if she should marry again she shall have only her thirds of the sd Real Estate finally I Constitute & ordain my beloved Wife & my son Jabez the Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all other Wills by me made.
