York Gr.J. 1662, 70, 73, 78, 79, 86; j. 1662-4, 69, 83; coroner's j. 1668; O.F. 1669; Kit. constable 1663, 72; Selectm. 1674, 75, 83; deputy to General Assembly at York, 1685. In 1675 he was fined for travelling from Hampton to Newich. on Sunday. In ct. for trading with the Indians in 1676, but lic. to do so in 1683. In 1678 he bot a ho. on Great Isl. from Saml. Wentworth and opened a tavern, being lic. until 1679 when he sold to John Gale and Francis Tucker and returned to Kit. where he was lic. to keep a tavern until his death. Lic. to trade with Indians 1682. His w. was Mary Taylor (Anthony), who m. 2d 28 Nov. 1688 Saml. Wyllys, Esq., of Hartford, Conn., who, in 1695 aft. her death sold her Kit. prop. to her bro. John Taylor of Hampton. Will 25 Nov. - 15 Dec. 1687 ment. his kinsmen Saml. Canney and Thos. Roberts, jr., his sister whose maiden name was Mary Love (b. at Tonbridge, co.
