| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CHRISTOPHER, the earliest of his name in N.E., first appeared, "mariner," of Portsm. in 1668, buying his Kittery homestead, which fell to Hon. Mark Dennett, who wrote "by tradition from Wales." Will 13 Jun 1685, 21 Sep. 1687, names 4 ch., "cousin" Isaac Goodridge, wife Margaret. She was dau. of Mark Hunking and d. c. 9 Dec. 1722, leaving will. Goodridge called her "My aunt Mrs. Margaret Adams." Ch. Anne, m. 1st Joseph Couch Jr., 2d David Hill, 3d Nicholas Weeks. John, 1674, shipwright. Will 2-15 June 1737 names wife Amy (Dennett) and 6 ch. Mary, m. 1st Alexander Shapleigh, 2d John Dennett. Mark, d. 1706-1722 s.p. [ref 22] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CHRISTOPHER, Braintree, a petition. with many others, in 1645, for a planta. on the land of Pumham. He rem. E. and had fine est. at Kittery, where in his will in Suffk, Reg. X. 105 of 13 June 1686, pro. 21 Sept. 1687, more than eight mos. after his d. by Gov. Andros, he names w. Margaret, and four ch. John, Mark, Ann, and Mary, beside cous. Isaac Goodwright, to wh. are giv. two cows. [ref 20] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Christopher Adams signed a petition in Braintree, Mass., in 1645, and is thought to have been a brother of Henry Adams, ancestor of the Presidents. He bought land in Kittery in 1668. He was then a "mariner" of Portsmouth. Wife's name was Margaret. Will, 13 June 1686-21 Sept. 1687, is found at Boston in Suffolk Records. It names "cousin" Isaac Goodridge, wife Margaret and the following children. The total of the inventory was �621 s7. It mentions farm of 170 acres, 70 of which were bought of William Palmer and Peter Glanfield. Children: John, Anne, Mary, Mark. [ref 33:272] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CHRISTOPHER ADAMS, OF BRAINTREE, MASS.. In 1645, joined in a petition with others for a plantation on the lands of Punham. He removed E. and had fine estate at Kittery, where in his will in Suff., of 13th June, 1686, probated 21st Sep. 1687, more than eight months after his death, by Gov. Andros, he named wife Margaret and four children--John, Mark, Ann and Mary, besides cousin Isaac Goodwright, to which are given two cows. [ref 50:64] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WILL OF CHRISTOPHER ADAMS, 13 Jun 1685 - 21 Sep. 1687: Item- I give to my well beloved grand children Margaret King, Mary Adams, Sarah Adams, Mary Dennet, Sarah Dennet, John Dennet, Thomas Dennet, and Eleonor Dennet, to each of them five pounds in money. Item- I Give to my well beloved grandson Thomas Adams, his heirs and Assignees forever, all the Land that belongs to my homesteed or house lot bounded on the west by the Land which I formerly gave to my Daughter Anne on the North and South by two Creeks or Coves of Salt water and on the East with the high way together with my Dwelling house, barns, out houses and orchards that are thereon Excepting what fruit trees I have in these presents given to my daughter Weeks during her natural life and after her Decease to be the Said Thomas, his heirs and assignees forever I also give to my Said Grandson his Heirs and assignees forever all that my pasture land called the lime kiln butted and bounded on the western side by the land which I have in these presents given to Willm and Anne Hill on the Northern Side by the brook of water that leads to Nathll Furnald his Land and then by the Said Nathll Furnald his Land and into ye woods So far as my land is fenced including that percel of Land called Marks Swamp on the other Side it is bounded by the Land that was formerly Robert Mendams Deced or however the Said Land is otherways butted and bounded all which Land is Scituate and being in Kittery aforeSd. The Said Thomas Adams shall be posest thereof when he Shall come to the age of Twenty one years. I also give to the Said Thomas free Liberty to Cut and Carry of from my Land that Joyns to the above Said pasture what fire wood he Shall need for his own burning during his Natural life if ye wood lasts so long. [ref 22] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WILL OF MARGARET (HUNKING) ADAMS, 30 Jun 1720 - 23 Jan 1722/3: In the Name of God Amen The thirtieth day of June Anno Domini one thousd Seven hundred and twenty I Margaret Adams of Kittery in the County of York in the Province of the Massats Bay in New England Widow being aged and weak in body, But of Sound Dispossing mind and memory thanks be given to God; Therefore Calling unto mind the mortality of my body do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to Say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it And my body I Recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executor And as Touching Such worldly Estate Wherewith it hath Pleased God to Bless me in this Life I give Demise and dispose of the Same in the Following manner and Form. Imprs I give to my well beloved Daughter Anne Weeks Dureing her Natural Life all the fruit that Shall grow upon the peices of Rows of Apple trees that are in my Orchard next to the Stone wall that is by the high way with the Liberty of Ingress Egress and regress to gather and Carry away the Said fruit during the above Said term I also give to my Said Daughter two Cows & ten Sheep and the one halfe part of my wareing Apparrell both linnen and Woolen. Item I give to my well beloved Daughter Mary Dennet two Cows and ten Sheep and the one half part of my Wareing Apparrell both linnen and woolen.
