| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ANNA LIBBY 11-6-1, born in Scarborough, 17 Nov. 1734; married 27 Jan. 1752, COL. SAMUEL MARCH of Scarborough, a son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Small) March of Kittery. Col. Samuel March came to Scarborough where his uncle, Dea. Samuel Small was living, and continued his residence there until his death. He was by trade a cordwainer, but early dropped that occupation. He kept the tavern east of Oak Hill, since known as the "Sweetsir place." He was for many years one of the leading men of the town. He repeatedly filled the most important town offices; was for many years a deputy sheriff for Cumberland County; and was a lieut-colonel in the Revolution. He died 30 Oct. 1804. His widow died 13 Nov. 1815.
