Andrew, J.P., b. ab 1642, as a boy was in ct. for aggress., early at Smuttinose, where his w., her dau. and both hus. sold without license. Fishing master in partn. with Henry Mains. In 1673 he and his partn. had bot a house at Ipsw. and in 1681 he was providing a seat in the meetingho. for his wife. Constab. of Smuttinose 1670, selectman 1679, Com.t.e.s.c. 1685, J.P. 1690. The two bros., many yrs. leading fishing masters at the Shoals, were both childless by two wives. M. ab. 1668 Joan, b. ab. 1629, wid. of Roger Grant; 2d at Marb. 24 July 1705 Elizabeth Elliot, who m. 2d (int. 5 Apr. 1707) Rev. Theophilus Cotton, later of Hampt. Falls and d. 13 Oct. 1710 from a fall of horseback, ag. 45. Mr. Cotton bot his house from his sis. Grace and Peter Lewis. [ref 22]

14 July, 1659. "Andrew Dyamont of Kittery presented for saying he would kill or be killed in some case of difference about a piece of land. John Dyamont the father of said Andrew affirmeth that sd Andrew acknowledgeth his offence & submits himself & is fined 20s & fees 5s & is discharged." (Court Records) 13 June, 1673. William Doe, �40 conveys to Andrew Dymond & Henry Maine, all of Isles of Shoals, his house and land in Ipswich. (Ipswich Records at Salem, III, 267) 30 Oct., 1674. Abadiah wood conveys to Andrew Dymond, both of Ipswich, land in that town. (Ipswich Records at Salem, IV, 349) 1 May, 1679. James King conveys to Andrew Dymond, of Isles of Shoals, land in Ipswich. (Ipswich Records at Salem, IV, 260) 17 March 1679-80. "Roger Kelly & Andrew Dyamont are empowered with any one of the Magistrates fo this Province to hold Court of Isles of Shoals." (Court Records) "Testimony of Andrew Dyamont aged about 39 years in behalf of Walter Matthews of Isles of Shoals -- Sworn to 9 June 1680." (Court Records) 31 March, 1691. Administration granted to Mary, widow of Andrew Sargent, Andrew Diamond of Ipswich and William Sargent of Gloucester, bondsmen. (Essex County Records) John Pickering vs. John Woodman & Nathaniel Rains Administrators of John Diamont, returnable 1st Tuesday of April, 1695-6. (Court Records) 10 May, 1697. Andrew Dimond gives bond as Administrator of Estate of late Andrew Sargent, both of Ipswich (Essex County Records) " . . . Andrew for many years a tavener and magistrate on the Isles of Shoals."
