| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - son of George TALBOTT and Anna RYLEY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Peter Talbot, b. circa 1655, near Blackburn, Lancashire, England; appeared first in Dorchester, Massachusetts, in March, 1675; removed to Milton and in 1684 to Chelmsford; he was probably lost at sea in 1714, returning to England, since no word was ever received of the ship's arrival in port; his son Peter followed within a year, his ship was never heard from; he may have gove to England to prove claim to gd-father's will; tradition says that Peter Talbot had been forcibly seized in England and made to serve on a naval vessel and that he escaped and swam ashore when the vessel entered the harbor of Plymouth; after three unsuccessful attempts to return to England he settled at Dorchester, Massachusetts; he took part in King Philip's War; was enrolled in 1692, in the West Regiment of Middlesex; m. (1st) 12th January, 1677-78, Mary (Gould) Waddell of Dorchester; m. (2d) 29 December, 1687, Hannah (Clark) Frizell. Children by first marriage: Edward, Dorothy, Mary, Peter, Elizabeth; children by second marriage: George, Sarah.
