SAMUEL, Weymouth, s. of Thomas of the same, freem. 1666, m. says Shattuck, Mary, d. of Joseph Dyer, but had no issue, was rep. 1679, and d. soon aft. date of his will, 2 Dec. 1698, of wh. w. Mary was made extrix. and the ten ch. of his br. Joseph legatees. [ref 20]

"settled in Weymouth near the Fore River on the spot of Land the House of Cotton Tufts Jun now stands on 1804" (Asa White, 1804). He "settled on this property, probably buildings g, not a very permanent house, about 1660, at which date, or not far removed from it, he married Mary Dyer...; and undoubtedly he wanted a house of his own, to which he might bring his new bride, and built here, near his father, for that purpose" (Dea. Gilbert NASH of Weymouth, 1879)

WILL of SAMUEL WHITE, 2 Dec 1698 - 14 Sep 1699: To wife Mary lands at Weymouth, four negro servants, 12 a. cedar swamp in Braintree north on Richard Thayer, south on Joseph Allen. To Samuel White my cousin son of my eldest brother Joseph 6 acres now fenced in between land already given him at Menaticott in Braintree, and John Bowdage's land, also 2 a. orchard & meadow next unto John Hefars (Hayford's) land in Braintree, & also I confirm to him land already given in Manaticott that he hath a deed of, and the refusal of my salt meadow in Braintree at a price another will give, also give him 2 acres cedar swamp that lyeth between a cedar bridge & Richard Thayer's swamp nigh Cranberry Pond. To my overseers each 20 acres of that land bought of John Hubbard lying on the E. side of Francis Nash's field. To Experience & Hannah daus. of my brother Joseph 40 shillings apiece. Balance to be divided in 33 shares. Brothers Joseph, Thomas, Ebenezer, sister Hannah Baxter, Joseph son of brother Joseph & Mary daughter of brother Thomas & Hannah Dyer daughter of my sister Hannah Baxter each one shall have a double share. To Thomas and Samuel White and Ann Traske children of brother Joseph, to Samuel & Ebenezer children of brother Thomas, to Ebenezer, Thomas, Samuel, Joseph & Benjamin, to Hannah, Abigail, Experience & Elizabeth children of Ebenezer my brother & Joseph, John, & Samuel Baxter children of sister Hannah & Benjamin Ruggles my wife's sister's son one share each & to Lydia Cooke & Mary Hill daughters of brother Joseph one share each which is 2 shares more. Brothers John, Joseph, & Benjamin Dyer, sister Abigail Nash, sister Sarah Ruggles and her son Benjamin Ruggles. To children of my brother John Dyer, dec. �20 equally divided. To children of my brother Joseph Dyer, dec. �20 equally divided. To brother Benjamin Dyer �25, & to his children if he is deceased before he receive it. To children of sister Abigail Nash �25, equally. To Benjamin Ruggles, son of my sister Sarah Ruggles, dec. �10 & to his children if he decease. Rest to be divided in 5 equal parts including my two negroes Moses & Miriam, my plate, clothes & other moveables, one part to each legatee, but negroes to be set free at age of 32 if they continue faithful & not prove wicked or stubborn.
