John b. 26 Oct. 1670, son of Alexander Gordon and Mary Lisson of Exeter; m. in Salis. 23 Dec. 1697 Sarah Allen (Lt. John); liv. Exeter, at times Sals., until 1722; thereafter divid. his time bet. Exeter and Biddeford. Bot and sold much land in Exeter and Biddef., land to two sons. Liv. Exeter July 1742. Ch. incl: Joseph, Allen, John. [ref 22]

John Gordon (Alexander1), born Exeter, N.H. 26 Oct 1670, d. before 1746. Married 23 Dec 1697 Sarah Allen, b. 9 Feb 1677 at Salisbury, Mass., d/o Lieut. John and Mary (Pike) (Andros) Allen. Resided Exeter. In 1720* John and his sons Joseph and Allen removed to Biddeford, Maine. Joseph married and is the ancestor of the Biddeford and Saco Gordons. John Gordon, of Newbury, afterwards purchased a part of this land (Pendleton tract) on which his sons Allen and Joseph were settled 1728. Children: John, Allen, Joseph. [ref 80:6]
