It was mentioned on 1 Sept. 1721 that Josiah's widow was lately dec'd. [ref 55:2-219]

This wid. Mary Ward, it is thought, was prob. the wid. of John Ward, of Midd., who d. abt. 1683-4, and, if so, she was dau. of Wm. Harris, of Midd., tho the name is not ment. in the sett't of the Ward est. John Ward had a son, then 18 yrs. of age; and his wife was anciente at the time of her husband's dth. Josiah Gilbert m. wid. Ward in Jan., 1687-8 [ref 24:354]
