Persis, by w. Elizabeth had Abigail, bapt. 17 June 1639, unless she were ch. of ano. Thomas, as seems not unlikely; for no other is ascrib. to this one, wh. d. 7 Oct. 1666, and in his will of 7 Nov. preced. ment. his age of 82 yrs. his w. Elizabeth aged a. 71, s. John, Randall Nichols, beside gr.ch. Mary Bridge and Elizabeth Jeffts; and gave legacy to the coll. His wid. Elizabeth mo. of Mary, w. of Peter Tufts, was perhaps his sec. w. [ref 20] [the Abigail called "child" is prob a granddaughter to this Thomas] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - THOMAS PEIRCE, the emigrant ancestor of this branch of the Pierce family, came to this country from England in 1633-4 with his wife Elizabeth and settled in Charlestown, Mass. He was born in England in 1583-4; died October 7, 1666. His wife was born in England in 1595-6. Children: John, Samuel, Thomas, Robert, Mary, Elizabeth, Persis, Abigail*. [ref 92:265] *Abigail, born 13 years after the previous child, is probably a granddaughter - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 21 Feb 1634 admitted to Charlestown church 1636 received land grant 4 acres of planting ground Charlestown; 1638 owned 10 lots totalling 97 acres and 4 cow commons by 1643 moved to Woburn; elected to town offices 6 Nov 1665 - 22 Mar 1667 will Cambridge: 20s. to Harvard College and gave legacies to the two grandchildren living with him -- Mary Bridge & Elizabeth Jeffs. The rest, he left to his wife, Elizabeth, for as long as she lived; wife executrix; after Elizabeth's death, all grandchildren to receive 10s. each; remainder to be divided among children inventory: house, etc. �60; 12 acres �48; 8 acres commons �32; 6 acres �20; 10 acres marsh �30; 5 commons �30; total �413 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | ||||||
