[ref 20] [children not mentioned: Persis, Mary] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1623 immigrated on the Anne; 26 May 1647 freeman. Proprietor of three lots in Watertown at time of 1643 inventory, and grantee of at least two others; proprietary right apparently inherited from stepfather. Purchased one other lot in Watertown, which he sold to John Bigelow at time of move to Charlestown. 22 Feb 1646/47 at Charlestown selectmen's meeting "It was agreed that Peter Tuft may join with his brother [brother-in-law] William Bridges to keep the ferry" [called the "Penny Ferry"]. Presumably purchased at least two lots in Charlestown, since his widow sold them, in 1649 and 1653. Petitioned General Court in 1644 for grant of land based on his service to John Oldham, but told to look for land in a new plantation. Courte The humble petition of William Bridge of Charlestown Humbly shewing unto your Wor[ships] that whereas I came over into this Countrey with Mr. John Oldham who was my father-in-law about one & twenty yeares since & endured much hardship diverse yeares together with him not having received any recompence of him besides what my then present necessities did require, he dying in debt, I doe humbly intreate your Wor[ships] to consider that my condition and (if it shall seeme good to your Wor[ships]) to appoint unto me your pore petitioner some quantity of land by way of recompence for my sd service done to my sd fatherinlaw, and that the rather because I have yet had no allotment of land given me by any towne. William Bridge, and next, John Harrison [ref 20] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - born in England, probably about 1625, and came to Charlestown in 1634 with her family. "Peircis Bridges" was admitted to Charlestown church 30 November 1643. After William Bridges's death, and no later than 6 May 1653, she had married, as his second wife, John Harrison of Boston, ropemaker, by whom she had ten more children [ref 26] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Persis, married William Bridges; had Mary.
