CHRISTOPHER, Watertown 1634, by w. Mary had Abigail, Joshua, Caleb, and Benjamin; and by w. Sarah had Sarah, Joseph, Mary, or Mercy, or both; and Christopher; but it is observable, that Bond takes note of only one wife. He d. 6 Sept. 1685; employ. in sett. the glass in the first edifice erect. for Harv. Coll. [ref 20]

Christopher Grant, a glazier by trade, born 1608, settled early in Watertown, Massachusetts, with his wife Mary, and lived in the northeast corner of the town, near Fresh Pond. He died there September 6, 1685. The inventory of his estate, made October 5, following, amounted to 296 10s. Children, recorded in Watertown: Abigail, Joshua, Caleb, Benjamin, Sarah, Joseph, Mary, Mercy. [ref 29:2192]

2 Mar 1640/1 Garret Church stood as surety for Christopher Grant, a Watertown man. In 1652 Grant sold land to Church, and other lands of Grant and Church were adjacent to one another. 5 Oct 1652 Christopher Grant of Watertown and Mary Grant his wife sold to Garrett Church of Watertown six acres of planting ground and one acre of pond adjoining; the grantor provides the chain of title for these parcels: three acres of the upland was a grant from the town of Watertown to Christopher Grant; the other three acres of upland was granted by the town to Lawrence Waters, from whom Grant acquired it; and the acre of pond was granted by the town to John Lawrence, from whom Grant acquired it. Christopher, glazier, Watertown, propr. 1634. deposed 6 (2) 1658 ae. 48 years (Mdx. files). Wife Mary; ch. Abigail, Joshua, Caleb, Benjamin, Sarah, Joseph, Mary, Mercy, Christopher. He d. Sept. 6, 1685; admin. to sons Christopher, Caleb and Joseph; the daus. Sarah Seaverns and Mary Smith deposed, after the death of their mother, Jan. 19, 1691-2. [ref 37:196]

CHRISTOPHER GRANT, a glazier, b. 1608; and wife MARY, were very early settlers of Wat., where he d. Sept. 6, 1685. Inventory, dated Oct. 5, 1685, 296.10. He settled in the northeast corner of the town, near the border of Fresh Pond. [ref 77:259]
