Philip, �22, 10 Jul 1673, at the Shoals, app. master of Peter Twisden's shallop; Mr. Philip in 1680; on coroner's jury there 1687. [ref 22]

Philip, b. about 1651. He was a fisherman at the Isles of Shoals in 1673, aged 22, when he was apparently the master of Peter Twisden's shallop. He was on a coroner's jury at the Shoals in 1687 and figures in a Shoals account as Mr. Philip Hatch in 1680. He was probably married and possibly, like so many Shoals men, lost at sea. Two Hatch girls who were married in Ipswich and Gloucester, both of which towns had close connections with the Shoals, and where the name Hatch is otherwise unknown, were probably his children: Patience, Mary.
