Jonathan, shipwright, had Kit. gr. 1699; liv. 19 June 1717. Wid. Sarah (Downing, m. bef. 20 May 1702) m. 2d 7 May 1719 Joseph Curtis. 7 ch. (no Robert) shared in distrib. 1725. As admx, the wid. had paid 'Bro. David' £31, but 'Bro. Nathl.' sued her in 1723 and got £19; still admx. in 1726. [ref 22]

Jonathan Mendum, Jr., married Sarah, dau. of Joshua Downing. Had a grant of 30 acres in 1699. Was a shipwright, His widow married Joseph Curtis, 7 May 1719, and was adm'x of estate of Jonathan Mendum in 1726. One item in the administration was for "bringing up one child 5 years until it was seven years old." Children: Patience, Mary, Jonathan, Alice, Robert, Joshua, Dorothy, David. [ref 33:606]
