PETER, Boston, mariner, had, I suppose, mov. in from some other place; possib. he was s. of William of Pemaquid, bec. nothing of him is found in town or ch. rec. but his will of 23 Feb. 1695, pro. 28 Mar. foll. gives to his d.-in-law Mary Howard, half of his dw.ho. and shop, salt ho. wharf,*c. she paying his s. Joseph, on his com. of age, �30. or if not so paid, he should have that moiety, and the other half to s. Peter; all personal est. to d. Mary Townsend, exc. sea books and instrum. with wear. apparel, that should all go to Joseph. [ref 20]

MEHITABLE Hodsdon,2 bapt. in Hingham, Mass. Nov. 1641; m. in Salem, Mass., Nov. 3, 1665, Peter Welcome of Boston, Mass. They lived for a time in Salem then in Boston where she d. between 1673-81; and he m. (2) widow Mehitable Howard who had a dau. Mary Howard mentioned in Peter Welcome's will as his dau-in-law, giving her one half his dwelling house, shop, salt house, wharf, &c. She paying to his son (her half brother) Joseph Welcome now at sea thirty pounds on his coming of age. He also gives his dau. Mary Townsend the household furniture which he had before his marriage with widow Mehitable Howard who had d. Oct. 23, 1694; his will was dated Feb. 23, and probated Mar. 28, 1695. His inventory �245.00.0. Children: Peter, Mehitable, Mary, Samuel. [ref 32:14]
